the Black Panthers: a Photographic Essay!

This past weekend, I visited San Francisco Art Institute to see an exhibit on the Black Panthers. I was especially interested in this exhibit because its showcasing images from the late 1960s, therefore documenting early members & possibly some of the founding members of the Black Panther Party. And also because it’s an photography exhibit!

This photographic essay was lead by Ruth-Marion Baruch and Pirkle Jones. The two was married for 49 years and both attended San Francisco Art Institute which was called California School of Fine Arts at the time.
