Stanford Nurses Strike, Palo Alto!

On Monday, April 25, 2022, nearly 5,000 nurses from Stanford and Lucille Packard Children’s hospitals went on strike. Demands are/ asking Stanford Health Care management for safe staffing, a better mental health program, & higher pay wages due to cost of living increases, to name a few. Nurses from both hospitals are represented by the Committee for Recognition of Nursing Achievement (CRONA).

A tentative agreement was reached this past Friday (4/29/22) and the nurses will vote on it Sunday. An over 50% vote in favor of the agreement will end the strike.

Below, are a few images I took on Monday morning.

*Just a little “did you know” info… The last strike that took place at Stanford was in 2000 and lasted for 51 days.
